Salary Information of Employees of TWSE- And Tpex-Listed Companies

2019-08-06
The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) indicated that, to follow the “Corporate Governance Roadmap” (2018-2020) and to strengthen the information transparency and social responsibility of listed companies, all TWSE and Tpex-listed companies were required to report the “Compensation information for all employees disclosed in the notes of financial statements” and the “Salary information of full-time non-managerial employees”. The first report (for 2018) was filed and publicized at Market Observation Post System in 2019. According to the first report, the average annual salary of full-time non-managerial employees of TWSE and Tpex-listed companies were about NTD 1,008 thousands and 729 thousands respectively.
The information included: number of employees, total salary amount and average salary. The investors could make inquiries according to securities code, industry or average salary. Companies that meet specific screening criteria (such as employees with an average salary less than NTD 500,000) were required to declare the relevance and rationality between the company''s operating performance and employees’ salary. To enhance the transparency of information on employees’ salary, the information on median salary would be provided in 2020.
Employees are important assets to business. While pursuing business performance, all listed companies should also care employee rights and interests and endeavor to improve the employees’ compensation and welfare, realizing corporate governance and social responsibility. The FSC, TWSE, and Tpex will continue to pay attention to salary disclosure, and urge listed companies to fulfill their corporate social responsibility.
