In response to the impact of climate change and international attention to the sustainability issue, and to assist domestic enterprises in setting their carbon reduction targets as soon as possible, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) held a press conference on January 13, 2022 to announce the phased promotion of the “Sustainable Development Guidemap for  TWSE- and TPEx-Listed Companies”, and requires all listed companies to complete greenhouse gas inventory taking by 2027, and greenhouse gas inventory verification before 2029. The measures above are officially launched today.
    In order to facilitate the understanding of external parties, the FSC, the TWSE and TPEx respectively invited relevant government units, listed companies, financial holding companies, accounting firms and third-party verification institutions to three public hearings in February 2022, with a total of about 150 companies participating.
    The FSC will invite relevant units to discuss the issues of the participants’ concern, and then issue relevant operation guidelines or Q&As for enterprises to follow. In addition, the FSC, TWSE, TPEx together with other related units, will jointly promote and strengthen the publicity, continue to pay attention to international trends, and adjust the promotion measures in a rolling manner, so as to help enterprises achieve the goal of sustainable development and integrate with the world.
